This page will explore other books that the lighthouse service used. The
Instructions To Light Keepers for example was the bible of how the station
was to be run. It told the keeper how to do their job and what colors to
paint things for example. A few selected passages will be added to give you
some examples of what this type of publication provided for instructions. If
you wanted to run a lighthouse, you would need this book on hand to do it. You can purchase a reprint of this book published by the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association at many book stores that carry lighthouse related books or order it online or from the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association directly. This version is a 1900 version and contains the most information that the public may obtain in on publication. |
